So, now who is acting "stupidly"?

Consider this; there are over 18 million alcoholics in America and our President is agreeing to have a beer summit. Dare I ask, who is acting stupidly? This is a clear case of how sin compounds upon itself. Remember Pinocchio, the character that appeared first in 1883; well, the emphasis on his life (being a living puppet wanting to become a real boy or having a lying tongue that causes his nose to grow) has been protrayed many ways.

I even came accross a YouTube link that states "it's a Pinocchio character drinking guiness and dancing". Havn't went there to have a look; I think I'll pass. This gets at what I want to emphasize; once we tell the first lie, and refuse the genuinely repent, we proceed to pile on the next sin; in this case alcohol. The glorification of beer by the President, of all Americans, is acting stupidly.

Therefore, at the Beer Summit (planned for Thurs 30 July 2009) we will have a law enforcement office, a Harvard professor, and the leader of the free world sitting around having a beer.

With this said, I am not ignorant of the problem here. They are (all three) lacking; suffering from the grevious sin of a pride in unbelief. What they need is not a beer but a personal, real, relationship with The Lord Jesus. This is Gods' desire them, you, and me. Therefore, the summint is but an exercise of vanity.

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. Ephes. 5:17

Consider Christ, nothing else works.
