Coast 2 Coast AM Ok, I'll admit it; occasionally I listen to 'Coast to Coast AM' on the way to work at times. On these occasions, from approximately 4:30 to 5:00am I have heard some of the weirdest, lost, and confused individuals you can imagine. This program primarily entertains the idea of UFOs and supernatural activity although; it recently aired subjects that would be considered "normal". With that said, my heart goes out to all of them as they are clearly trying to fill a void with something that will never satisfy. This article is in response to a broadcast that occured on 26 July 2007. The episode featured the infamous Ouija board. Many callers opined with different views ranging from claims of personal experience confirming its' validity to direct claims that the board is merely a toy. Here is my take: Dismissing the specifics of the Ouija board, I'll go directly to the idea of the spirits involved. As sure as there is good, there is evil. There is a scriptural correlation that comes to mind when I think about this; if not for the law, we would not know of transgression. In other words, if God had not established what was right, we would never know there was wrong. Everything would be acceptable if there were not law. The law is schoolmaster; it shows us we are not, and can never be, perfect. I'm convinced that the occult does exist but, we give it more emphasis than it deserves. "Nothing" can happen in the universe without God allowing or causing it. As sure as there is a God, there is an evil one the Bible calls Satan or the Devil; and yes, he has helpers. One of the shortest calls, during the radio program mentioned above, was from a gentleman that stated I am a spiritual pragmatist; I've noticed that you don't receive calls from anyone trying to reach Jesus on a Ouija board. The host replied you don't really need a Ouija board for that, do you? and promptly went on to the next caller. Well, I understand the callers sentiment in that he believes the majority of the Ouija users are not looking for anything helpful but, it's worth noting that the Lord Jesus is separate from sinners and is not subject to our beckoned call. Any claim of talking to Him apart from a surrendered prayer-life is suspect. The host decided not to dabble in the occult, or to use a Ouija board on live radio because it may disturb some of his listeners who believe in its validity. This was probably a good idea if only for the fact that we live in a time where frivoulous lawsuits are common-place. Conclusion: If you aren't a believer, then you are open to all sorts of evil and risk spending eternity separated from God. To be 100% sure you will spend eternity with Him, now is the time to get right with God. Accept His free gift. Jesus Christ died for sinners and, we all qualify as we all fall short of perfection. choose Christ, nothing else will satisfy.
