Going, Going, Gone

At the time of this article, there is an emphasis on global warming and climate change; once again, it astonishes me that we ignore the huge elephant-in the-room. We are getting the cart before the horse. Hang on, no pun intended, we are all going to die. As we all know, we have an appointment that we are going to keep, in that, death is certain.

It seems logical to me to put eternity out front just-in-case we are not able to save the planet. Before we continue aimlessly along, we need to know where we are going. Don't know about you but I'm 100% convinced I will be spending eternity in the presence of God. With this assurance, I have a different perspective going forward. My desire is that everyone has this blessed hope before they are gone.

Although I believe that global warming is the second biggest hoax ever, I do know that we should cherish everything that God has entrusted to us and not pollute for the sake of selfishness. With that said, God is in control and we won't ruin the planet unless He allows it. A global warming (pardon the sarcasm) is coming but the cause will not be man-made emissions. The climate has been changing since sin entered the world.

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. Romans 8:22

God has a plan for the earth that little man (that's all of us) cannot circumvent. Our eternal destiny is the major issue that is being swept aside by vain babblings, junk science and ill-advised pride; which is the desire to be the masters of our own fate. But, thank God, He is longsuffering, merciful and doesn't wish that any should perish. That said, He is also just and commands that all come to repentance. Gone are the days of straddling the fence; more and more, do to media coverage, political correctness and I suspect, God's direct will; we all are coming clean. Either you believe that Jesus is the Christ or not. All are making decisions as we view the various events; such as:

Catholic priest child abuse cases
Homosexual priest and the Anglican Church
The Divinci Code
The Passion of the Christ
José Luis de Jesús Miranda's claim to be Jesus
The finding of the tomb of Jesus and His family
Ted Haggard's need for grace
Mel Gibson's need for grace
Candidates touting their faith (in what / whom?)
The radical evangelical religious right
The godless left

Notice that the majority of news about spiritual things are negative or have less that positive story lines. We have gotten so far away from God, as a nation, and are seeing the consequences. We desire to keep God out of our minds but He has decreed that in protest or in praise; Christ will be preached. It's fascinating that every campaign to get rid of God fails. God has designed it this way in order that no one may have an excuse when he/she stands before Him someday.

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Hebrews 9:27-28

What's the deal with December 21st 2012? Well, another uninformed deception is that this is doomsday or a date for the apocalypse. Again, when you know Him who knew the end from the beginning, you can dismiss such nonsense because scripture states that someone is coming, not something.

Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. Matthew 25:13
