Welcome to "On The Wing [OTW]"

- building strong families for time & eternity

OTW is a different approach at building strong families; a virtual Bible study so novel in fact that even I don't know where it is eventually going. I just feel led to jump aboard and see where it leads.

Background and goal of "On The Wing"

Ever notice the beauty of migratory birds? I am fond of Purple Martins on the wing. This magnificent swallow in flight is one of the most fantastic sights in nature. As hobbies go, this is one of the most rewarding for the young and old alike. Notice the picture that ushered you to this page? The photograph, by Dean Moss, my wonderful wife, is a great shot of a martin pair. This photo depicts, in my mind, a husband willing to do all for his family. If you ever have an occasion to watch the nesting habits of Martins you will see skirmishes that appear to be to the death. The intensity of these battles are great examples of male responsibility in the home. Complimentary-wise, the female Martin is the picture of strength under control. She quietly raises the young, vigorously defending them while not bringing much attention to herself. Sitting and watching these magnificent birds took on new meaning overtime and is supporting my desire that families get On The Wing. My prayer for you and yours is new understanding and relationships that are fulfilling for time and eternity. What is meant by time & eternity? Time is the here-and-now, eternity is forever.

Structure of the OTW Bible study

OTW (GOD CAN) The idea of the study is taking shape; it has been combined with an interactive Bible study held every Wednesday starting in late 2009 and is ongoing in 2010.

Please email me at countdown21@gmail.com with questions about Biblical things or life in general that we can address during the study. You can view the answers here . All questions, within reason, will be answered. Obviously, I reserve the right to ignore anything too silly:) What is a silly question you ask?

1: Can God create a rock too heavy for Him to lift?
2. Does the Bible tell me who many Big Macs to eat?

These are actual (paraphrased) questions I have heard. Although I will give the answers here (below); I will just ignore such questions in the official answer section because there are too many serious questions to address:

Answer to #1: No, because God doesn't do anything that is "silly." Everything He does is purposeful, right, decent and in order.
Answer to #2: No, but it does say that we are not to be guttons; everything is do be done in moderation.

I look forward to hearing from you.
